IW Saturday League, Div 1.

Osborne Coburg 0 v 3 BRADING TOWN.

( C Collins 2, D Vale 1 )

Brading earned another 3 points and another clean sheet, their 5th in 6 games, as they overcame a spirited Osborne Coburg.

The scoreline could and should have been more comfortable than it was, in fact Brading were indebted to Ben Self, who produced 3 superb second half saves to keep Coburg out.

Caymen Collins continued his recent good form, opening the scoring from 20 yards, before grabbing his second at the far post, from Dan Vale’s cross. Poor finishing and good goalkeeping, kept the game in the balance, before Vale, who had missed 4 glorious chances earlier in the game, finished well in the last minute to seal the 3 points.

There were many good performances yesterday, Matty Oatley again finding his form of  last season. Some of his passes yesterday were superb. The Mulholland brothers dominated the midfield and both broke up attacks and created many good opportunities for the team.

Liam Bennett turned in another eye catching display, improving each game. As already mentioned, Ben Self had superb return to the first team. Andy Payne was away getting married. Ben followed on from where Andy left off, with an assured display and some vital saves.

The game also saw the return of Scott Lawson and Will Quigley, a great boost to the squad. Young Aaron Youngson, stepped up from the reserves and did very well, coming on as a second half substitute.

Man of the Match yesterday was Caymen COLLINS. He is playing as well as i’ve seen him, in my time asmanager of the club. His confidence is sky high and he has now added goals to his game, plus the amount of work he gets through, is phenomenal.

We now have 3 cup games in a row, we will need to keep up the levels we have shown over the last few weeks. The squad is getting stronger, when you consider that Payne, Reeve and Urry were all missing yesterday. The young reserve side have many players that have already played for the first team and there’s a few that soon will.
