Yateley FC 1 v 3 BRADING TOWN.

( Oliver Wilson 1, Joshua Younie 1 & Caymen Collins 1 )

( With Paul Brenchley & Ben Armstrong both injured, the 1st team do NOT have one player, who has managed to play in the first 10 games of the season )

A good away win, with several players out.. Brenchley, Ben & Simon Armstrong, Ranson, Roper, Henderson & Phipps, the incoming players show the strength of the Romans squad. Manager Lawton could have some tough decisions to make when all his players are available….

Brading started the game in control and played some lovely football for the first 25 mins, taking a 0 v 3 lead. A silly penalty allowed Yateley a small foothold. At this point, our opponents decided that they were unable to cope with the Romans passing game, and reverted to plan B, if it moves kick it… Sadly the ref allowed them to get away with this tactic!! Which marred the 2nd half and spoilt Brading’s passing game.

Referee: Ian Neville 65/100.

With Attrill, Quigley, Ranson, Si Armstrong & Henderson all unavailable, manager Steve Lawton, showed the club’s strength in depth, when he annouced his squad to take on a more than capable Ryde Saints. With places having to be hard fought for, leading scorer Danny Vale found himself benched !!!!!!! After missing last weeks game…..

UTR!! Cup Winners.

The game went into extra time… where Brading Town’s fitness saw them over power their dogged opponents.

The introduction of Ollie Wilson and Caymen Collins helped to turn the game into Brading’s favour.

This, along with good performances from Woodnutt, Brenchley, Vale and James ” Duracell ” Phipps. Vale toiled tirelesly upfront on his own, Brenchley never missed a thing, Woodnutt had possibly his best game in a Brading shirt….which leaves Stan Dupp’s Brading Town Man of the Match… JAMES PHIPPS the fittest player on the pitch, covered every blade of grass and played no little football inbetween.

Brading continued their good start to the season with a comfortable win at Seaclose.

Brading dominated the game, but for a combination of poor finishing and some exceptional goalkeeping, the score line could have been doubled.

GKN were reduced to 10 men after a defender brilliantly saved a goal bound header, Daniel Vale converted the resulting penalty.

The second half was virtually one way traffic………………….. goals from James Phipps, Caymen Collins and Ben Armstrong sealed the points. The only disappointment was giving away a last minute consolation goal, which deprived us of a third consecutive clean sheet.

Brading Town Man of the Match.. Luke Hitchcox.

And there’s Moore….

Simon Moore, Brentford FC. ( Formerly of Brading Town FC )

Former Brading Town goalkeeping brother’s, Simon MOORE and Stuart MOORE, have both been excelling themselves of late.

Simon has been the regular Brentford FC 1st team keeper for several games. Yesterday his performance against Walsall FC in the league, which ended 2 v 2, earned Simon a place in the Sunday Mirror’s Dream Team for League Division 1.

His younger brother Stuart, who is with Reading FC, has been on loan to Arsenal. Stuart played his first game for Arsenal U18’s, away to Blackburn. His next game in a Gooner’s top, was against French club Olympique Marseille FC, in which Stuart kept a clean sheet.

I’m sure everyone at BTFC would wish Simon and Stuart all the best……..
